Some of today’s most innovative and disruptive companies in the logistics industry showed off their products during FreightWaves’ first virtual Carrier Summit on Wednesday.
Their challenge was to spotlight their products through engaging seven-minute presentations — with no PowerPoints allowed. Blume Global and Tenstreet presented during the afternoon demo block.
Blume Global
The transportation and logistics industry is in the midst of a technological revolution, but that does not mean that all solutions are equally available to all players. Blume Global has made it its mission to level the playing field between small to midsize carriers and mega carriers through accessible technology.
“The industry as we know it is filled with manual processes and phone calls for everything from accepting loads to assigning drivers, from transferring bills of lading to capturing proof of delivery documents,” said James Miller, a Blume Global solutions consultant. “Small to midsized carriers are less efficient because of this, and they are really at a disadvantage when working with large 3PLs and shippers.”
Blume’s CarrierGo Premium product is a low-cost way to manage a fleet, create work orders, assign drivers to loads and gain full visibility into each shipment. The platform is customizable, allowing users to change languages and image sizes on the go.
The CarrierGo Premium platform allows smaller carriers to access the same types of high-tech digital tools available to larger companies, helping them hold their own and succeed in a competitive industry.
Tenstreet
Recruiting top-notch drivers can be a difficult task, especially in a world that has gone digital. Tenstreet’s Driver Pulse platform gives job seekers and employers a transportation-specific place to look for their next gig or get seats filled.
The product connects carriers and drivers, making it easy for companies to recruit and onboard new employees through a compliant digital platform. The platform not only streamlines the application process, it also has safety features that assist companies with the clearinghouse process and help them improve their CSA scores.
“The best part about the Driver Pulse app is that three out of four drivers already have it on their phones, and it is completely free for you and drivers,” Tenstreet’s Marilyn Surber said.
The app gives drivers visibility into what is happening with their applications, while also giving employers the ability to schedule drug screenings and training from the app.
