The logistics services provider’s contract logistics arm established a dedicated co-packing facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone.
GAC Dubai’s contract logistics arm opened a dedicated co-packing facility in a free trade zone in Dubai, the Jebel Ali Free Zone.
The new facility, which features two temperature-controlled cleanrooms, provides 1,800 square meters of space for printing, labeling, kitting and product assembly services, GAC said.
GAC Dubai’s contract logistics team aims to increase monthly throughput from 7.5 million unit customizations per month to 11 million per month by mid-2017.
“In the last 18 months, we have invested in a dedicated warehouse for a long-term customer, The One, refurbished 24,000 pallets to a European food grade standard, and implemented an energy-efficient district cooling plant and water recycling systems,” GAC Dubai Managing Director Stuart Bowie said. “We are currently in the final stages of contractor selection to build a new 72,900-pallet facility at Dubai World Central.”
