The logistics services provider GAC said Monday it has started construction of its new office and warehouse in Houston.
The facility is located in Houston’s Central Green Business Park, with GAC set to consolidate its existing warehouses into a 181,067-square-foot cross-dock building with four acres of outside storage space.
The new building, due for completion in mid-July, will see the company centralize its local and regional executives under one roof.
“Our new warehouse represents GAC’s long-term commitment to customers in Houston who benefit from our local presence and capabilities to deliver their needs globally,” said Lars Heisselberg, GAC group vice president Americas, in a statement. “The opening of this warehouse is a key part of our strategy to continue strengthening our portfolio of services to the energy sector, particularly here in Houston.”
The warehouse is located within a designated foreign trade zone (FTZ) and is in close proximity to George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
GAC said its 65,000-square-foot oil and gas warehouse in Laredo, Texas, will continue to operate as a separate facility near the Mexican border, where its oil and gas customers require daily cross-border transport. – Eric Johnson
