Cloud-based supply chain solutions developer ShipXpress has been acquired by GE Transportation, resulting in 200 employees from ShipXpress becoming a part of GE Transportation.

GE Transportation, producer of rail transport equipment and services, has acquired the cloud-based supply chain solutions developer ShipXpress.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed by the two companies. However, they noted that 200 employees from ShipXpress will become part of GE Transportation.
GE Transportation also said in a statement that the acquisition allows it to become more deeply involved in “the logistics value chain, giving it new offerings for shippers, and expanding its ability to deliver information and transaction services for railroad customers around the world.”
“Our combined capabilities will help short-line railroads better analyze their rail operations, car accounting and supply chain information, and deliver a data-rich path to ongoing performance improvement, asset and operations optimization,” added Jamie Miller, GE Transportation president and chief executive officer.
