Austrian transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss has acquired Kapeller Internationale Spedition, further expanding its operations in the Tyrol region.

Austrian transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss has acquired Kapeller Internationale Spedition.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed by the two companies.
Kapeller Internationale Spedition, a logistics company based in the Tyrol region of Western Austria, has locations in Innsbruck and Wörgl, and has about 40 employees. The operation will be integrated into the Gebrüder Weiss network, but will keep its name as a subsidiary.
Owner Gerhard Kapeller will turn over management of the company to Hannes Mayr, who has run the Gebrüder Weiss branch in Tyrol for the past 11 years. David Kapeller, son of Gerhard Kapeller, will still manage the branch office in Innsbruck.
Kapeller, which was started in 1958, specializes in multimodal transportation and logistics for events, furniture and artwork. It also provides door delivery and product assembly services for customers.
Following the takeover, Gebrüder Weiss will now have about 300 employees at three Tyrol locations in Hall, Wörgl and Innsbruck. Services in combined transport will be offered and handled by Gebrüder Weiss subsidiary TSSU, a Tyrolean road-rail-transshipment company.
