Gebrüder Weiss starts Eastern Europe home deliveries

Freight forwarder Gebrüder Weiss has expanded its home delivery service beyond Austria to include the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary and Slovakia.

Austrian freight forwarder Gebrüder Weiss has started a home delivery service for Central and Eastern Europe, according to a statement from the company.
The service began in Austria, but is now available in the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary and Slovakia under the product name GW pro.line home.
The service includes parcel, such as cash-on-delivery, as well as larger shipments that require two-person handling and assembly on site.
Gebrüder Weiss first entered the home delivery market in Austria 12 years ago. The company handled about 300,000 consignments for its customers last year.
Customers primarily belong to the furniture, household and consumer electronic industries, “where the demand for end customer deliveries is the greatest,” Gebrüder Weiss said.
