GEOLOGISTICS AMERICAS TO END U.S. DOMESTIC OPERATIONS
GeoLogistics Americas, the subsidiary of the GeoLogistics group, said that
it will end most of its U.S. domestic freight forwarding operations on Oct. 15.
The company now will devote its personnel, technology and material resources
to international logistics and transportation needs, it said.
"The international logistics marketplace represents the area of greatest
growth and profitability for GeoLogistics Americas," stated Malcolm Heath, president
and chief executive officer.
GeoLogistics’ American operations have recorded operating losses.
GeoLogistics Network Solutions, formerly Bekins HVP, will continue to operate
normally and is unaffected by the decision on domestic forwarding business.
