GEOLOGISTICS EXPANDS IN SWEDEN TO SUPPORT AUTO BUSINESS
GeoLogistics AB Sweden, a unit of GeoLogistics Corp., tbe non-asset-based North American logistics provider, has added a 50,000-square-foot logistics center in Gothenburg to support its expanding automotive business.
The new center augments an existing 25,800-square-foot office and warehouse complex that now serves as a transit facility for consolidation services.
One of the first contracts to use the new center will be that of Yazaki Corp., a leading supplier of automotive wiring, instruments and electrical components. GeoLogistics Sweden has a three-year contract with the Japanese company, to receive instrumentation from the Far East, store it, maintain stock control and deliver to an agreed call-off from Volvo.
GeoLogistics has worked with Yazaki since 1986. In 1997, GeoLogistics first became involved in the Swedish market on Yazaki's behalf, handling their business with Saab and Volvo.
