GEOLOGISTICS FORMS GLOBAL LOGISTICS TEAM
GeoLogistics Corp., the U.S.-based freight forwarder and logistics provider, has created a Global Logistics Team and named Scott T. Brinks to lead the unit as senior vice president and chief logistics officer.
Brinks, formerly GeoLogistics’ vice president of logistics, becomes the company’s most senior logistics official and a member of its Global Executive Committee.
The Global Logistics Team will provide expertise and technical leadership for GeoLogistics’ supply chain activities, including warehousing, distribution and value-added logistics services, according to the company. It will lead the design and engineering of customized logistics solutions, support new business development and assist Geo’s Bekins Co. trucking subsidiary.
“GeoLogistics’ roots are in freight forwarding. This is likely to remain the largest segment of our business for the foreseeable future,” said Bob Arovas, GeoLogistics’s president and chief executive officer. “At the same time, we recognize that our customers are evolving to more complex supply chains and focusing their energies on their core competencies.”
