Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett visited the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority’s Packer Avenue Marine Terminal Thursday to welcome Horizon Lines to the Port of Philadelphia.

The company began offering weekly service between Philadelphia and Puerto Rico on April 11.
Corbett estimated Horizon Lines, which relocated its Northeast hub to Philadelphia’s Packer Marine Terminal from from the Port of New York and New Jersey, will bring 400 to 600 direct and indirect jobs to the region. He also reiterated support for deepening the Delaware River main channel from 40 to 45 feet. – Chris Dupin
