GRAND ALLIANCE’S ASIA/EUROPE SERVICE RETURNS TO ROTTERDAM
The Grand Alliance’s fixed-day weekly Asia/Mideast/Europe “Loop 4” service will resume direct calls at the Dutch port of Rotterdam at the end of the month.
The vessel “Essen Express” will call be the first ship to call at Rotterdam’s ECT Delta terminal on Feb. 25 as part of the revised port rotation.
Calls at Rotterdam had been replaced by port calls at nearby Antwerp on a temporary basis at the end of last year, because of problems at the Dutch terminal. Antwerp will no longer be served directly on the service.
The revised rotation of the service is Southampton, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Colombo, Port Kelang, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Yantian, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malta, Southampton, Hamburg and Rotterdam.
The Grand Alliance members are Hapag-Lloyd, Malaysian International Shipping Corp., Nippon Yusen Kaisha, Overseas Orient Container Line and P&O Nedlloyd.
