Greenbrier reports railcar orders
The Greenbrier Cos. said Monday it has received orders for 3,000 new railcars with an aggregate value of about $200 million.
The Lake Oswego, Ore.-based firm said the order comprises 2,250 double-stack intermodal platforms, 500 covered hopper cars, and 250 railcars of various types for the European market. They are to be delivered through 2010-2011.
The company said the new orders are in addition to orders announced Aug. 25 for 1,700 new railcars and refurbishment of 1,100 railcars.
