French ocean carrier CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd of Germany and Hong Kong’s OOCL issued general rate increases.
Ocean carriers CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd and OOCL announced general rate increases.
CMA CGM will increase rates from:
• All Asian ports to all Middle East Gulf ports for all cargo in two successive steps. On Sept. 8, rates will increase by $500 per TEU, while on Sept. 15, rates will increase by an additional $200 per TEU.
• North Europe and the Mediterranean to Australia for all cargo effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by $300 per TEU and $600 per FEU.
• The East Coast of South America to West Africa for all cargo (including dry, reefer, OOC and breakbulk) effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by $150 per container.
• The East Coast of South America to South Africa, East Africa, the Arabian Gulf and the West Coast of North India for all cargo (including dry, reefer, OOG and breakbulk) effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by $150 per TEU and $200 per FEU.
• North Europe and Baltic ports to the East Coast of South America effective Oct. 1. For dry and reefer cargo, rates will increase by 200 euros per TEU and 400 euros per FEU.
• India, Pakistan and the Middle East to Mombasa, Dar es Salaam and Nacala for all cargo (including dry, reefer, OOG and breakbulk) effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by $300 per TEU and $600 per FEU.
• North Europe (the Baltic, Scandinavia, UK/Eire, Continent, Spain Atlantic and Portugal Atlantic) to the Caribbean, Central America, and the North and West Coasts of South America effective Oct. 1. For dry and reefer containers, rates will increase by 200 euros per TEU, and 400 euros per FEU and 40-foot high cube containers. This increase does not concern the Europe-French West Indies, Suriname, Guyana, Leeward and Winward islands trade.
Hapag-Lloyd will increase rates from:
• East Asia to the Arabian Gulf for all cargo and container types effective Sept. 15. Rates will increase by $250 per TEU.
• East Asia to Mexico, the West Coast of Central America and the West Coast of South America for all cargo and container types effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by $750 per TEU container and $1,500 per FEU container.
• East Asia to the Caribbean, the East Coast of Central America, Panama, the Gulf of Mexico and Progreso for all cargo and container types effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by $1,050 per TEU container and $1,500 per FEU container.
• East Asia to the U.S. and Canada for all dry, reefer, flat rack and open top containers effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by $450 per 20-foot standard container; $500 per 40-foot standard container and 40-foot high cube container; and $632 per 40-foot reefer container.
• The Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East to the U.S. and Canada effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by $400 per 20-foot standard container; and $500 per 40-foot standard container, 40-foot high cube container and 40-foot reefer container.
• North Europe to the East Coast of South America for all cargo and container types effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by 200 euros per 20-foot standard container, 300 euros per 40-foot standard and 40-foot high cube container, and 400 euros per 40-foot reefer and 40-foot high cube reefer container.
• North Europe and the Mediterranean to Australia for all cargo and container types effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by $235 (210 euros) per TEU and $390 (350 euros) per FEU.
• North Europe and the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean Islands for all cargo and container types effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by $235 (210 euros) per TEU and $390 (350 euros) per FEU.
• Canada and the United States to East Asia, the Indian Subcontinent and Middle East for dry commodities effective Oct. 1. From West Coast, East Coast and Gulf Coast ports, rates will increase by $80 per TEU and $100 per FEU. From Inland origins via West Coast, East Coast and Gulf Coast ports, rates will increase by $120 per TEU and $150 per FEU.
• North Europe and the Mediterranean to West Africa for all cargo and standard container types effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by $125 (115 euros) per TEU and $285 (255 euros) per FEU.
• Asia to Africa for all cargo and container type effective Oct. 1. Rates will increase by $165 per TEU and $340 per FEU.
In addition, Hapag-Lloyd issued an increased “Freight All Kinds” (FAK) rate increase for all cargo and standard container types from East Asia to the North Continent and West Mediterranean Sept. 15.
The German carrier will also increase FAK rates for all cargo and standard container types from the North Continent and the Mediterranean to the Indian Subcontinent and Middle East effective Oct. 1.
OOCL will increase rates from the Far East (excluding Japan) to North Europe, the Mediterranean and the Black Sea effective Sept. 14. Rates will increase by $425 per TEU.
