Ocean carriers Maersk Line, MOL and UASC have announced general rate increases on various trades.
Maersk Line has issued a rate increase from Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar (Burma) to Australia Aug. 1. Rates will increase by $200 per TEU, $400 per 40-foot container (FEU) and $400 per 40-foot high cube dry container.
Maersk Line will also increase rates from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Taiwan to Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Puerto Rico, Panama and Colombia (Santa Marta, Baranquilla and Cartagena) Aug. 15. Rates will increase by $700 per TEU, $1,000 per FEU and $1,000 per 40-foot high cube dry container.
In addition, the Danish carrier will increase rates from the same countries in Asia to Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Colombia (Buenaventura) Aug. 15. Rates will increase by $750 per TEU, $1,500 per FEU and $1,500 per 40-foot high cube dry container.
MOL has issued a rate increase on all cargo moving from Asia (excluding Malaysia and India) to Mexico and the West Coast of South America Aug. 15. Rates will increase by $750 per 20-foot general purpose container (GP), $1,500 per 40-foot GP and $1,500 per 40-foot high cube container (Dry/Reefer).
UASC has also issued a rate increase on all cargo from Asia to the East Coast of South America Aug. 1. Rates will increase by $750 per TEU, $1,500 per FEU and $1,500 per 40-foot high cube container.
