Intermodal cargo that previously moved via the Port of Jacksonville will now be routed via Port Everglades.
German ocean carrier Hamburg Süd has dropped a call at the Port of Jacksonville on its U.S. East Coast – Aruba/Bonaire/Curacao & Venezuela Service, due to declining demand in Venezuela, the company said.
“The last vessel calling Jacksonville will be the Ipanema V 174 ETS Jacksonville Feb. 15,” Hamburg Süd said.
The carrier’s intermodal cargo that previously moved via the Port of Jacksonville will now be routed via Port Everglades, located about 330 miles down the Atlantic coast in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
