HANJIN INAUGURATES KAOHSIUNG CONTAINER TERMINAL
Hanjin Shipping has inaugurated its new container terminal in the
port of Kaohsiung.
The Kaohsiung Container Terminal has an annual handling capacity of
430,000 TEUs a year and features three post-Panamax gantry cranes, a berth measuring 320
meters and a depth of 15 meters.
Hanjin said that the new terminal is a gateway to East and South
mainland China, including Ningbo, Fuzhou and Xiamen.
The Kaohsiung terminal is the latest dedicated terminal developed by
Hanjin, which already operates terminals in Kamcheon, Kamman and Kwangyang in Korea; Osaka
and Tokyo in Japan; Hamburg in Germany; and Long Beach and Seattle in the U.S.
Hanjin also reiterated that it plans to develop its own terminals in
New York and in Oakland.
