Hanjin names Choi as CEO
Hanjin Shipping has appointed Eun Young Choi as its new CEO, the Korean ocean carrier said Tuesday.
Choi is the the company's majority shareholder and has been serving as a member of Hanjin's board. She is the widow of former Hanjin chairman Cho Soo-ho.
'The company believes that it will help common stakeholders have confidence in the company during this time of hardship caused by the recent global economic crisis,' the carrier said in a statement related to Choi's appointment.
Choi will join Hanjin's other CEO, Young Min Kim, who was due to replace current president and CEO Jung Won Park Thursday.
