HANJIN RAISES NORTH EUROPE/U.S. AND MED/U.S. RATES

Non-conference operator Hanjin Shipping will raise its
westbound tariff rates from north Europe and the Mediterranean to the U.S., with effect
from Oct. 1.
From northern European ports, the increase is $120 per 20-foot
container and $150 per 40-footer.
Hanjin’s price rises are the same as those announced by the
Trans-Atlantic Conference Agreement.
From the Mediterranean, the carrier’s rates are going up by $200 per
20-foot box and $250 per 40-foot container.
The increases will not apply to existing service contracts.
Along with other conference and non-conference carriers on the U.S./north Europe trade,
Hanjin is also introducing a westbound equipment repositioning surcharge of $250 per
container on Sept. 11.
