Hapag-Lloyd introduces new intra-Mediterranean loop

The carrier’s new Turkey Israel Express Service will connect the ports of Damietta and Port Said in Egypt with Mersin, Turkey and Haifa, Israel.

   Ocean carrier Hapag-Lloyd has introduced a new weekly service between Mediterranean ports in Egypt, Turkey and Israel.
   Hapag-Lloyd will operate the new Turkey Israel Express Service (TIX) with one 810-TEU vessel on a port rotation of Damietta, Port Said, Mersin, Haifa, and back to Damietta. The TIX is scheduled to commence May 5 from Mersin.
   The carrier said in a statement it plans to add a call to Iskenderun, Turkey to the TIX starting at the end of June.
   Hapag-Lloyd also announced updated port rotations for its Levante Express Service (LEX) and Adriatic Express Service (ADX). The LEX will have a rotation of Cagliari, Genoa, Leghorn, Naples, Salerno, Cagliari, Alexandria, Damietta, Mersin, Izmir, and Cagliari; and the ADX will have a port rotation of Damietta, Rijeka, Koper, Venice, Ancona, Bari (from June), Port Said, and Damietta.
