Heavy-lift trucker Barnhart expands network

Barnhart, a large heavy-lift trucking company based in Memphis, Tenn., has expanded its national network by opening a handful of new branch offices.
The new locations are Charleston, S.C.; Owensboro, Ky.; and Richland, Wash. Barnhart also opened a fourth new branch in Syracuse, N.Y. with the acquisition of C&C Crane and Rigging. In addition, the company is relocating operations from Portland, Ore., to Seattle – bringing its branch network up to 24 locations.
The Charleston and Owensboro branches will focus on providing heavy transportation, rigging and lifting services to nuclear and power shippers in that region. The Syracuse branch will serve customers in the renewable and nuclear energy sectors.
Matt Brennan, Barnhart’s regional director, said the move from Portland to Seattle in the Pacific Northwest “will allow us to reduce the cost of our services by shortening our mobilization distances. Moreover, the Seattle branch location – with all its plants and facilities – will enable us to respond at a moment’s notice.”
