HISPANIOLA DISCUSSION AGREEMENT TO ADD WHARFAGE SURCHARGE
Members of the Hispaniola Discussion Agreement will implement a wharfage surcharge on shipments between the United States and the Dominican Republic, effective Feb. 27.
The surcharge will be $1.80 per weight or measure on general cargo to or from Miami and Port Everglades, and $1.66 per weight or measure for roll-on/roll-off cargo and vehicles.
On intermodal cargo, the wharfage is to apply at the levels equal to those of the port at which the cargo is loaded or unloaded.
Member shipping lines are Crowley Liner Service, Kent Line, Navieras, Seaboard Marine, Tecmarine and Tropical Shipping.
