Cargo volumes at Hong Kong International Airport rose 2 percent year-over-year in October to 392,000 tons.
Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) handled 392,000 tons of cargo in October, a 2 percent increase from the same month last year.
The increase was mainly driven by import volumes, which rose 4 percent year-over-year in October, the airport said.
Export and transshipment volumes in October rose 1 percent and 2 percent, respectively, from last October.
“Amongst the key trading regions, traffic to/from Europe, Australasia and North America increased most significantly,” HKIA said.
In 2015, the airport posted year-over-year cargo throughput growth in January, February and September, in addition to October, while the airport reported declines from March through August.
On a rolling 12-month basis, HKIA handled 4.39 million tons of cargo, a 1.1 percent year-over-year increase.
