Homeland Security picks DHL for express delivery
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has awarded an exclusive five-year, multimillion-dollar contract to DHL, a provider of package delivery and logistics services, for the transportation of all of Homeland Security's letters and small packages in the United States and worldwide.
Under terms of the contract, effective immediately, DHL will handle same-day, next-day and ground delivery of parcels for all units within the Department of Homeland Security, including the Secret Service, Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection, and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.
The value of the contract could be as high as $60 million over its term, DHL said in a statement. DHL won the contract in a competitive bidding process.
