Hong Kong terminal operator adds Russian all-cargo airline

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Ltd. (Hactl) recently started handling Moscow-based Aviastar-Tu all-cargo flights from Tolmachevo to Hong Kong, with three more flights being added by year’s end.

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Ltd. (Hactl) is now handling shipments arriving at Hong Kong International Airport from Moscow-based all-cargo airline Aviastar-Tu, Hactl said in a statement.
Aviastar-Tu recently started flights from Tolmachevo to Hong Kong, using a Russian-built Tupolev Tu-204C freighter with a 28,500-kilogram payload and 14 pallet positions. By the end of this year, the carrier plans to step up its service to Hong Kong to a four-times-weekly frequency. This will include a second flight from Tolmachevo and twice-weekly flights from Vladivostok. The carrier provides these services for the Russian Post.
Hactl provides Aviastar-Tu with ramp and terminal handling services, along with all documentation.
“We are confident that Hactl’s considerable experience in mail handling, and their dedicated express facilities, will enable us to provide our customer with the highest possible service standards,” said Dmitri Kovalenko, CEO of Aviastar-Tu.
Aviastar-Tu, which started operations in 2000, provides Tu-204C freighter flights for express carriers and postal authorities in Russia, Europe and Asia.
