Horizon Lines increases vessel bunker, intermodal surcharges again
Horizon Lines is increasing its vessel bunker surcharge and intermodal surcharge for the U.S./Puerto Rico trades, effective May 1. This follows a previous increase April 8.
Horizon Lines’ bunker surcharge will rise from $280 to $310. The intermodal surcharge will increase as follows:
* Zone 1 (Florida, New Jersey, Texas) From $30 to $40.
* Zone 2 (Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Rhode Island) From $70 to $90.
* Zone 3 (Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia) from $100 to $120.
* Zone 4 (Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Wisconsin) from $110 to $135.
* Zone 5 (all other states, Canadian provinces, Mexico) from $120 to $150.
“Prices for diesel and vessel fuel have continued their steady march upward in the last several weeks. Although crude oil has dipped recently, prices for finished product have not followed,” Horizon Lines said.
