   Horizon Services Group, a Dallas-based provider of logistics management technology for ocean shipping, will remain a subsidiary of Horizon Lines LLC., the new name for CSX Lines, which is being purchase by The Carlyle Group.

   “We will be wholly owned by Horizon Lines, LLC as part of the deal announced (Dec. 17) with The Carlyle Group,” said Rick Kessler, chief operating officer of Horizons Service Group.

   “We will still be marketing our systems and our logistics solutions to other carriers and transportation providers,” Kessler said.

   “I think the new entity was named Horizon Lines, LLC, to show the synergies of our two companies moving forward,” Kessler said.

   Horizon Services’ CaptainSuite includes solutions for managing intermodal logistics and trade processes, and its NetCaptain grouping offers Web-backed booking and tracking applications for ocean shippers and their intermediaries.

   Recently, shippers using CSX Lines were offered “zero-second” bookings via Horizon Services’ Auto-Book solution, part of the NetCaptain suite of applications.
