HUAL car-carrier makes first call at Jacksonville

The “Hual America”, a 6,100-vehicle car and truck carrier operated by Norway’s HUAL, Thursday made its maiden voyage to America with a call at the Blount Island marine terminal in Jacksonville.

The ship has 12 vehicle decks and can accommodate sports utility vehicles, light duty trucks and a wide variety of larger vehicles.

The vessel was to discharge about 556 vehicles at Jacksonville, 504 of which are new Nissans that will be distributed to car dealerships throughout the U.S. Southeast. The balance are used transshipments destined for Nassau, HUAL said. In addition to imports, about 1,400 vehicles were schedule to be loaded on the “Hual America” for export to the Middle East.
