HUB GROUP BUILDS E-FULFILLMENT OFFERING
Hub Group Distribution Services, a subsidiary of large North American logistics firm Hub Group Inc., has developed a suite of online software tools for delivering larger goods ordered on the Internet.
The new services, called HGDS Shipping Central, are designed specifically for shipments larger than parcels that require home delivery. They can be accessed directly from http://www.hgds.com .
Consumers expecting delivery can access shipment information. Retailers can log in and access their shipping accounts. Another area of the site provides shipment management information to more than 450 carriers in the nationwide HGDS network.
HGDS provides delivery and order fulfillment services to traditional retailers, catalogue retailers and online stores. The company specializes in large items, such as pianos or refrigerators, which require special handling and assembly at destination.
