HYLAND TO RETIRE FROM PACER INTERMODAL

Rich Hyland said he will retire as president of Pacer Intermodal, a unit of Pacer International, effective June 30.

Bob Cross, who also heads the company's Highway Services and Professional Logistics units, will assume Hyland's duties.

Hyland joined Pacer in 1998 when the company he founded, Cross Con Transport of Chicago, was acquired by the group.

He will continue to serve as a member of Pacer's management council, said Donald C. Orris, chairman and chief executive officer of Pacer International.

Cross, a founding partner of Pacer, has senior management experience in both intermodal marketing and over-the-road transportation.
