The airline group will replace its remaining Airbus A321s with wide-body Boeing 777-200s between London Heathrow and Tel Aviv.
IAG Cargo will replace its remaining Airbus A321s with wide-body Boeing 777-200s between London Heathrow and Tel Aviv in March 2016.
The Boeing 777-200s will operate twice a day.
Businesses that operate within Tel Aviv’s pharmaceuticals sector will particularly benefit from the added capacity, IAG Cargo said.
Customers will benefit from a daily lift of 29 tons, which represents a net increase of 2,500 tons, or 72 percent, in the summer of 2016, compared to the same period this year.
Through IAG Cargo’s London Heathrow hub, Israeli drug companies benefit from access to 106 constant climate approved destinations.
“Tel Aviv is a thriving business centre and it’s also one of the most important regions for the manufacture of pharmaceuticals,” IAG Cargo Global Head of Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences Alan Dorling said in a statement. “Through the additional capacity delivered by the 777-200, we can now offer manufacturers in the region greater lift, helping them, as they look to grow their businesses.”
