The cargo airline said it will become the only carrier to fly direct from its London Heathrow hub to the Santiago International Airport.
IAG Cargo will launch a new route from its London Heathrow hub to the Santiago International Airport in Chile, becoming the only carrier to fly this route directly, the airline said.
The new route will commence from Winter 2016 and will become IAG Cargo’s longest direct route. Flights will operate four times a week to and from Santiago using a BA 787-9 aircraft.
With this new service offering, IAG Cargo will be able to provide customers with a weekly lift of up to 3,360 metric tons to Latin America.
“This new development augments IAG Cargo’s existing route into Santiago from Madrid, which helps to better connect our customers to the 350+ destinations on IAG Cargo’s global network,” IAG Cargo Head of Sales Camilo Garcia said.
In addition to this new route, from Summer 2016, IAG Cargo will launch new direct flights from Madrid to San Juan, Puerto Rico; and from London Gatwick to San Jose, Costa Rica and Lima, Peru.
