IES, a provider of logistics and compliance software services, announced that Columbia Logistics has signed on board to use the company’s cloud-based eCellerate tool.
Headquartered outside of JFK international airport in N.Y., Columbia Logistics is an international forwarder, broker, and NVOCC. It uses a network of offices at high-tonnage cargo hubs and warehouse receiving stations throughout the U.S.
Raj Nanda of Columbia Logistics said IES’ software was selected because of its streamlined, step-by-step method to capture all the data needed for regulatory compliance. “The web-based interface is concise and straight forward.”
IES said eCellerate is a role-based collaborative tool, meaning that various parties access one platform to gather information needed for international freight transportation. For example, exporters or manufacturers can securely enter information into the portal and then a forwarder or broker can access that information to ensure regulatory compliance for its destination.
Columbia Logistics is scheduled to launch the eCellerate ISF (importer security filing) module, part of the web-based eCellerate products suite. IES’ other services in the suite include purchase order management, ship order management, air and ocean shipment coordination, and booking.
