ILWU SAYS TALKS WITH PMA WILL RESUME AUG. 26

The International Longshore & Warehouse Union said Wednesday its collective bargaining negotiations with the Pacific Maritime Association will resume Aug. 26.

The talks had been suspended for the funeral last week of the father of James Spinosa, president of the ILWU.

Steve Stallone, a spokesman for the ILWU, cited statements of support for the union from the International Transport Workers Federation and Great Britain’s National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers.
