Inchcape provides logistics to British military

Inchcape Shipping Services has been appointed, alongside Kellogg Brown and Root, the prime contractor, to provide logistics support services to British military forces across the world.

The assignment forms part of the U.K. Ministry of Defense’s “contract for logistic support” (CONLOG).

Inchcape said that the contract for logistic support will improve the contracting process for commercial support for British forces, covering a range of service support for deployed operations and exercises.

Inchcape is already working with Kellogg Brown and Root in post-war Iraq.

“At present the company has a pivotal role in housing British forces, overseeing the delivery of container cargo from the U.K. to Iraq and the construction and maintenance of military camps,” Inchcape said.

Inchcape also manages port agency requirements for the British Royal Navy worldwide, and for the U.S. Navy in over 50 countries, as well as holding contracts with the navies of Australia and Canada.
