India opens offshore support facility in Kakinada
GAC India, part of Dubai-based logistics, shipping, marine and related services provider GAC Group, has opened a 10,000-square-meter offshore logistics support facility 1.5 kilometers from the Port of Kakinada.
Cmdr. (Retired) C.V. Rajeswara Rao has been appointed branch manager for the Kakinada site, which provides storage and stacking space for drill rigs, platform supply vessel related equipments and materials. It also has its own storage areas, maintenance workshops and secured warehouse.
“With increasing oil and gas exploration ongoing, power projects, fertilizer companies and a host of industries moving in, Kakinada is emerging as a hub for oil and gas exploration, as well as related services companies, and GAC India is ready to meet for the present and future needs of the industry,” the company said in a statement.
