The software providers’ expanded partnership will allow Info-X customers to get quicker access to bookings made through INTTRA, along with real-time track and trace capabilities, the firms said in a statement Monday.
Ocean shipping software provider INTTRA has expanded its partnership with the freight forwarding software provider Info-X, to let customers integrate Info-X’s transportation management system with INTTRA’s booking capabilities, the firms said in a statement Monday.
Info-X provides rate, tariff, and documentation software, as well as back office support services, to forwarders and non-vessel-operating common carriers (NVOs). It has long partnered with INTTRA, the largest global platform for enabling electronic ocean freight bookings and shipping instructions.
The new integration essentially provides more real-time cargo tracking and tracing and speeds the pace of the cargo booking process.
The two software providers “have proactively addressed the problems related to cargo bookings faced by many shippers and NVOCCs,” said Carlton W. Blair III, chief technology officer at United Cargo Management, a U.S.-based NVO.
Info-X, whose customers are predominantly North American and European forwarders and NVOs, has been developing its TMS capability over the past few years as customer demand expanded from its origin in rate management and outsourced services, the company said in briefings with American Shipper.
“We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with Info-X to address challenges to drive efficiency and cost savings across the industry to the benefit of our mutual customers,” said Sherrie Orzechowski, vice president of strategic alliances at INTTRA.
