Ingersoll-Rand solidifies Frigoblock acquisition

Frigoblock will become part of Ingersoll-Rand’s Transport Solutions business, which goes to market as Thermo King.

Ingersoll-Rand has acquired Frigoblock for 100 million euros ($110 million), the company said Thursday.
Frigoblock manufacturers refrigeration units for trucks and trailers in Europe, which are mostly sold in northern Europe. The company’s plant is located in Essen, Germany, and has about 150 employees.
Frigoblock will become part of Ingersoll-Rand’s Transport Solutions business, which goes to market as Thermo King.
“Our goal for this acquisition is to provide customers with a complete portfolio of solutions that are reliable, safe, efficient and environmentally responsible to meet their transport temperature control needs – including access to new hybrid and non-diesel options,” said Ray Pittard, president of Ingersoll-Rand’s Transport Solutions, in a statement.
