Inland waterway groups name officers

Officers were elected this week to head the Waterways Council and National Waterways Foundation.

   Waterways Council has named Tim Parker, president of Parker Towing, board chairman.
   Parker succeeds Merritt Lane, president and chief executive officer of Canal Barge Co.
   Meanwhile, the National Waterways Foundation has also elected its newest officers.
   Dan Mecklenborg, senior vice president of Ingram Barge Co., was picked to serve as the foundation’s chairman. He succeeds Mark Knoy, president and CEO of American Commercial Barge Line, who remains immediate past-chairman.
   Michael Toohey, president and CEO of the Waterways Council, was named foundation president, while Matt Woodruff, director of public and government affairs at Kirby Corp., was elected treasurer, and Debra Calhoun, senior vice president of the Waterways Council, was named secretary.
