Intelligrated, a North American-based automated material handling solutions provider, said late last week that it has acquired Ossining, N.Y.-based supply chain software developer Knighted.
Intelligrated described the acquisition as a strategic move to boost its fulfillment velocity for e-commerce, multichannel retail, third party logistics, wholesale, consumer products and food and beverage industries.
Knighted provides Web-enabled logistics software, primarily in the warehouse management arean, with key customers that include Barnes & Noble, Restoration Hardware, Vitamin Shoppe and Kenneth Cole Productions.
“Today’s multichannel retail and consumer demands require fulfillment operations to deliver orders faster and more efficiently than ever before,” said Greg Cronin, executive vice president of Intelligrated.
Knighted will continue to operate independently under the Intelligrated umbrella, the company said. Over the coming months, the companies will integrate select administrative operations and combine software development resources.
The Knighted management team, including Daniel Napoli, Craig Wilensky and Ed Kennedy, will continue to serve in executive roles in Intelligrated. – Eric Johnson
