Intercargo names Platsidakis chairman

   The bulk shipping trade association Intercargo has appointed John Platsidakis to chairman.
   Platsidakis is currently managing director of Piraeus-based Anangel Maritime Services, a position he will continue to maintain alongside his role as Intercargo chairman.
   The appointment was made at Intercargo’s Annual General Meeting in London on Tuesday.
   Intercargo represents more than 160 bulk carrier owners/operators (vessels engaged in the transport of dry bulk commodities such as coal, grain and iron ore) and associates.
