US Ocean, the U.S.-flag vessel-operating subsidiary of Houston-based Intermarine, has recently taken delivery of the vessel Ocean Globe.
The vessel joined the company’s fleet following reflagging in Jacksonville, Fla. earlier this month.
The Ocean Globe is a 17,000-deadweight-ton, multi-purpose vessel equipped with three onboard cranes with a combined lifting capacity of up to 800 metric tons. The vessel is one of five multipurpose vessels in the company’s U.S.-flag fleet.
“The Ocean Globe is ideally suited to carry a broad range of cargoes and her features allow her to operate in remote locations around the world,” said Will Terrill, vice president of Intermarine’s U.S.-flag services, in a statement.
After its registration as a U.S.-flag vessel, the Ocean Globe sailed to Houston, where it loaded wind turbine components destined for Gamesa’s Talas de Maciel Wind Farm in Uruguay.
