ITC appoints Barton administrative law judge

ITC appoints Barton administrative law judge

   The U.S. International Trade Commission has appointed Judge Robert L. Barton Jr. to administrative law judge.

   Barton will manage litigation, preside over evidentiary hearings and make initial determinations in the agency’s investigations involving unfair practices in import trade. These investigations most often involve allegations of patent, trademark, and copyright infringement.

   Prior to his appointment at the ITC, Barton served as administrative law judge at the U.S. Justice Department (1995-2005). He previously served as an administrative law judge at the U.S. Transportation Department (1990-1995) and the Social Security Administration (1988-1990).
