ITSTL acquires WDS rail terminal assets

ITS Technologies & Logistics will assume operation of five Norfolk Southern terminals previously operated by Cleveland, Ohio-based intermodal services provider World Distribution Services, ITSTL said in a statement.

ITS Technologies & Logistics, LLC (ITSTL) has purchased certain rail terminal assets of Cleveland, Ohio-based intermodal services provider World Distribution Services (WDS), ITSTL said in a statement.
Under the terms of the deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, ITSTL assumes the operation of five Norfolk Southern intermodal rail terminals previously operated by WDS, two located in Cincinnati, Ohio, two in Louisville, Ky., and one in Greensboro, N.C.
According to a company spokesperson, “all parties have carefully engineered the transaction to ensure that WDS’ customer will not experience any changes in the handling of its account, operations, or services that it currently receives from WDS.”
“WDS’ five rail terminals are a perfect fit for ITSTL as part of our overall growth strategy,” ITSTL CEO Steve Rubin said of the acquisition. “WDS is a well-respected rail intermodal operator, and the addition of these five terminals will bring ITSTL’s total to over 50 rail terminals operated in the U.S. and Mexico.”
“Due to our strategic focus on providing customized solutions directly to the beneficial cargo owners, we feel the transition of these five operations to ITSTL is in alignment with our overall corporate direction,” added Frederick Hunger, president of WDS parent The World Group of Companies.
