Jacobs joins Samskip
Flemming Jacobs, former chief executive officer of Neptune Orient Lines and APL Liner, has joined Icelandic carrier Samskip hf as director.
Jacobs, also a former partner of A.P. Moller and one-time head of Maersk Line, accepted a S$4.3 million ($2.5 million) contract severance from Neptune Orient Lines in January 2003.
According to Samskip, Jacobs serves on the boards of several maritime-related companies including Swedish shipping group Stena and the advisory board of the Panama Canal.
At the same time Samskip said Lilja D'ra Halld'rsd'ttir has been appointed as director.
Samskip said earlier this month it is acquiring Dutch intra-Europe shipping and intermodal operator Geest North Sea Line.
