JDA names new CEO

Former Tyco International executive Girish Rishi, who will take over immediately from current chief executive officer Bal Dail, said he is excited about the potential to develop JDA’s last-mile analytics capabilities.

Supply chain management technology provider JDA Software has named a new chief executive officer, effective immediately, the company said in a statement Monday.
The new CEO, Girish Rishi, most recently served as executive vice president for the fire and safety solutions manufacturer Tyco International. He replaces Bal Dail, who had headed JDA since April 2014 and will remain a senior adviser with New Mountain Capital, the majority investor in JDA, which was part of a consortium that injected $570 million in the software company back in August 2016.
Rishi, whose experience includes stints with Motorola Solutions (where he was a JDA customer) and as an early stage entrepreneur, cited what he sees as the potential to merge JDA’s existing solutions and scope in omni-channel commerce with final-mile analytics and capabilities that the company could add to help its enterprise customers.
He said he expects a “noiseless and frictionless” transition from Dail, who will stay on with the company until the end of the first quarter.
JDA is a major supplier of systems for transportation management, warehouse management, inventory management, and fulfillment.
