‘K’ Line adds five more ultra-large containerships

The vessel carrier will have 14,000-TEU ships in fleet by 2018.

“K” Line said Tuesday it will add 5 additional 13,800-TEU containerships to its fleet by 2018. The new ships, to be built by Imabari Shipbuilding Co., are identical to five ships that will go into service next spring and summer.
The Japanese carrier said the ships will “further strengthen both efficiency and cost competitiveness.”
