“K” LINE ADOPTS BOLERO SYSTEM FOR PAPERLESS DOCUMENTS
“K” Line has signed a contract with Bolero.net, the Internet-based trade transactions system provider, to become a member of its electronic network.
“K” Line said that it expects labor savings and an increase in efficiency in the logistics processes when the “electronization” of trade documents has been achieved.
A spokesman for “K” Line said that the company “has been grappling with a variety of system projects in an attempt to carry out electronization of ocean bills of lading.”
“K” Line said that tests of the Bolero system confirmed that it could enable electronic settlement with regard to trade documents in a secure environment on the Internet. The Bolero system will form the foundation for its “electronization” of B/L, it added.
Software connecting electronic settlements and “K” Line’s in-house basic business systems will be available, the carrier said.
However, “K” Line warned that the electronic documentation “will be limited in usage” until a legal environment is ready for future electronic settlement.
