“K” LINE AUTOMATES SHIP ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE FORMALITIES`
"K" Line is introducing a computerized
documentation system for port arrival/departure formalities of ships.
Developed by Marine Radio Service, Ltd., Daiichi Shoji Co., Ltd. and Auto
Corp., the computerized documentation system contains memorized documents necessary for
arrival/departure formalities in over 100 countries. Recorded documents deal with
procedural guidelines for port arrival and departure formalities.
"K" Line said that the system will save the company a significant
amount of manpower in work processes ranging from data input to production of documents.
The computerized system will be implemented on board ships equipped with a
global maritime distress and safety system and under the administration of group companies
specialized in ship management and administration.
The Japanese shipping group said that the documentation system will be
introduced in the first week of December and operated on a trial basis.
