“K” LINE FORMS LOGISTICS COMPANY
Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd. has founded a new logistics business, “K” Line Logistics Holdings Inc., as part of its restructuring efforts.
The new logistics business was formed through two “K” Line subsidiaries, Minato-ku-based Daito Corp. and Nitto Total Logistics Ltd., based in Kobe.
“K” Line's restructuring is part of its New K-21 management plan. The company said the restructuring has been prompted by changes brought about by deregulation and customers' diversified need for logistics.
“We have come to conclude that reviewing the conventional business practices, we should launch a new organization to forge a logistics strategy as the “K” Line Group centering on Daito and Nitto beyond our traditional framework of regional separation,” “K” Line said.
The directors of “K” Line Logistics Holdings are Hiroshi Kawamoto, “K” Line's special executive advisor; Tatsuhiko Tsuchihashi, president of Daito; Isao Okada, president of Nitto; Tadao Hayashi, “K” Line's managing director; and Shinkyo Kitazawa, general manager.
