The development will employ 500 workers.
Kuehne + Nagel is constructing a new facility in the west of Singapore.
Kuehne + Nagel said the new facility, which will employ 500 workers, is designed to improve workflow processes related to shipping and order fulfillment by making use of advanced technology, automation and robotization.
“Our investment in this modern facility is one of the largest outside Europe, and it reflects both the importance of Singapore as a business location and its significance for the Kuehne + Nagel network,” Executive Vice Chairman Karl Gernandt said.
The warehouse will have 55 loading bays and five floors dedicated to storage. With the total floor area stretching more than 46,000 square meters, 20,000 square meters will be reserved for cold storage, and 4,000 square meters will serve as dedicated office space.
square meters will be allocated to offices while the remaining space will cater predominately to aerospace, spare parts and hi-tech products. Kuehne + Nagel said it is positioning the facility to achieve the Green Mark Platinum and LEED Gold awards.
